Let’s get into it!

In today’s blog post:

  • What Instagram Content gets the best engagement

15 Surefire ways to Boost Engagement

  1. Post often and consistently. This is effective because it tells you when people are most engaged and when people will expect to see a post from you. It builds that trust with your audience which is essential to conversion.

  2. Don’t post it and forget it. You worked hard on that caption, picking the image, graphic, or video so why just leave it there no anyone to see. Your followers may not see your post while they are scrolling through there feed. So post it in Instagram stories. Engage with people on your feed. Engage with potential followers. Slide into people’s DMS when you check out their Instagram stories.

  3. Write a compelling caption. Don’t leave a good image hanging! You have 2,200 characters so you have plenty of space to tell a story, give some knowledge. Add a call to action. A compelling caption can also be quick and simple too! An example could be by telling them to tag their biz bestie if they agree with a quote you posted.

  4. Utilize all 30 hashtags. Hashtags help users find content. Choose hashtags that have been used less than 500,000 times so you don’t get lost in the crowd. Find unique hashtags and even create your own.

  5. Encourage people to tag their friends. Tailor your call to action to a specific user. For instance “tag a biz friend who’s just starting in their business.” It gets more people looking at the post that aren’t followers of yours and otherwise would not have known of you.

  6. Respond to your comments. This gets people coming back to your Instagram account because it doesn’t feel like they are talking to a wall with you. Respond, give advice, ask a question, and even share your product or freebie with them if they show interest.

  7. Engage with your followers too. Your audience went out of their way to engage with you, why not do them the favor and return that engagement. They are following you for a reason to share the love. Comment on an Instagram post, send them a dm, respond to their Instagram stories.

  8. Shout out your fave brands and influencers. Tag people or brands that is related to the post at hand. If they see it, they may just post it to their Instagram stories for others to see it. This puts even more eyes on your posts. Don’t tag just anyone, remember to only tag people and brands when it is related to them. You don’t want to get called out and get hate sent to you now, do you!

  9. Create genuine connections. Do not just post 2-3 words or a single emoji when leaving comments on others feeds.  It feels like a bot and it does not give off a warm feeling. Leave genuine comments in posts, stories, and even in Igtv videos. Ask questions, add in a personal touch whenever it feels appropriate.

  10. Got services or digital products tell your customers to share them on their Instagram. That can be as simple as just a tag. If people see your products or services being shared on someone else's feed that will motivate them to learn more about you.

  11. Cross-promote to other platforms. Not everyone is going to see your post. Make sure to share your post on other platforms for your other audiences to see. This encourages them to want to follow you on Instagram to learn more.

  12. Get creative with the content you post. You don’t just have to stick with just quotes or just images. Switch it up with infographics, diagrams, numbers and lists, interesting data, behind the scenes images and footage, tutorials, etc.

  13. Use the features in Instagram stories. Add in polls, quizzes, countdown tickers, and questions to get your audience engaging with you in one simple click.

  14. Incorporate video. Videos can be 3 to 60 seconds long as an Instagram post. Create quick tip tutorials, behind the scenes, interviews, etc. You can even include a snippet from an IGTV video.

  15. Share stunning images that stop the scroll. Believe it or not, photos still matter on Instagram. You don’t have to spend tons of time finding or creating images.
