Struggling To Be Consistent in Business? Try This Simple Idea!
Lately, I’ve been focusing on daily habits—things like drinking more water, moving my body, and journaling. What has helped me was that I started using a habit tracker to help me stay consistent, and I quickly realized something:
💡 The things I track, I actually follow through on.
Even on days when I don’t feel like it, seeing a streak of completed tasks pushes me to keep going.
And then it hit me…
Why am I not doing this for my business?
If tracking small daily actions has helped me stay committed in my personal life, why not apply the same concept to my business—especially when consistency is what builds success?
So, starting now, I’m going to incorporate a business habit tracker to help me stay consistent. And if you struggle with showing up for your business, I invite you to do the same. Let’s break it down and share how you can create your own.
1. The Discipline You Use in Daily Life Can Be Used in Business
Think about the habits you already show up for, even when you don’t feel like it:
You go to the gym or take a walk because you know consistency leads to results.
You drink water and eat because you know your body needs fuel.
You show up for family and friends, even when you’re tired.
These habits don’t always come from motivation. They come from commitment.
Now, imagine if we applied that same level of discipline to business tasks:
Creating content, even when engagement feels slow
Posting consistently, even if we don’t see immediate results
Engaging with our audience, even when we don’t feel "inspired"
🚀 Mindset Shift: Business success isn’t about being motivated every day—it’s about creating small, repeatable actions that keep us moving forward.
✅ Next Step: I’m going to start tracking daily business habits just like I do personal habits. Here’s what I’ll include:
Posting on social media
Engaging with my audience
Working on a new idea or product
Learning something new for business growth
If you’ve been struggling to stay consistent, try adding one business habit to a habit tracker this week.
2. Self-Doubt is Normal—Here’s How to Push Through
Let’s be honest—one of the biggest reasons we don’t show up for our businesses is because we doubt ourselves. We start asking:
What if no one cares?
What if I fail?
What if it’s not worth it?
But if I stopped working out because I didn’t see instant results, I’d never get stronger. The same goes for business.
Instead of letting doubt stop me, I’m reframing my thoughts:
Instead of "What if I fail?" → "What if I succeed?"
Instead of "No one is engaging." → "I’m building something worth engaging with."
Instead of "I don’t feel confident." → "Confidence is built through action."
✅ Next Step: I’m adding a "confidence habit" to my daily tracker. This could be:
Writing down one small business win every day
Showing up on video, even for 30 seconds
Learning one new business tip daily
What’s one small way you can build confidence in your business today?
3. Creating a CEO Routine That Feels Like Self-Care
I’ve learned that structured habits make personal growth easier, so I’m going to create a simple business routine that supports me:
🕘 Morning: Set a business intention, just like I set a personal intention.
📌 Midday: Work on one high-impact business task.
🌙 Evening: Reflect on one way I showed up for my business that day.
✅ Next Step: I’m adding one daily business task to my tracker, so I don’t just “hope” I work on my business—I make it part of my routine.
4. Surrounding Yourself with the Right Support
One thing I’ve learned in personal growth is that having support matters—but what happens when you don’t have an accountability partner, a business bestie, or a circle of like-minded entrepreneurs?
That’s where I lean on God.
There have been moments in my business journey where I felt completely alone—like no one understood what I was building, no one was cheering me on, and I had to figure everything out by myself. But in those moments, I reminded myself: I am never truly alone.
💡 God is my ultimate accountability partner. He sees my effort, my struggles, and my doubts, even when no one else does. When I feel lost, I pray for guidance. When I’m discouraged, I ask Him to renew my strength. And when I don’t see results, I trust that He is still working behind the scenes.
📖 Isaiah 41:10 reminds us:
"So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand."
💡 Mindset Shift: You don’t need a room full of people to be supported—you just need faith that God is walking this journey with you.
✅ Next Step: Instead of looking for external validation, start inviting God into your business.
Pray over your goals and ideas. Ask Him for clarity and direction.
Seek wisdom in decision-making. Let Him guide your steps.
Surrender the need for control. Trust His timing and His plan.
Rest in the fact that you are not alone. He is working even when you don’t see it.
So if you feel alone in business, you’re not. God is your greatest source of strength, wisdom, and encouragement. Let Him be your business partner.
5. Moving Forward: Treating Business Like a Habit
Here’s what I know for sure:
💡 If I can stay consistent with my personal habits, I can stay consistent with my business.
💡 If I can push through self-doubt in other areas, I can push through in business.
💡 If I can track my wins in daily life, I can track them in entrepreneurship, too.
So, moving forward, I’m going to treat my business like a habit—just like I do with self-care.
And I won’t be doing it alone.
I’m inviting God into this journey, trusting that He will guide me, strengthen me, and remind me why I started when doubt tries to creep in. I believe He placed this vision in my heart for a reason, and if He called me to it, He will see me through it
